You will start by walking along the very picturesque rue du Cherche Midi, where we start our "sweet tooth" experience at the bakery Poilâne, founded in 1932, we will taste the sourdough loaf bread (made with stone-ground flour and baked in a wood-fired oven) to which the Bakery owes its fame, followed by a taste of their renowned butter cookies called "Punitions" (punishments). Depending on which day the visit fall on, we will even be able to visit the cellar where they bake the bread. We continue along rue de Rennes towards rue de Sèvres to the "Maison du Chocolat" where we will have a "Panoramic" tasting of their different chocolate flavors imported from Venezuela, Madagascar, Mexico,... Our route then continues to Rue Bonaparte, to the shop of Pierre Hermé, "the Picasso of Pastry", where you will experience some of his creations with the names of "Dune", "Mogador", "Ispahan", "Satine", a firework display for your palate.
We cross the Boulevard Saint Germain to enter Rue de Seine to stop at Gérard Mulot, a pastry chef who continues to make patisseries in the old, traditional way, and has made him famous all over the world. You will taste some of his best pastries such as different types of Eclairs or the Saint Honoré, the Cherry Clafoutis,... In the same street, you will enter the boutique of Pierre Marcolini, the "dream maker" , he challenges convention, breaks new ground with his chocolate creations, them being delicate, harmonious, very intense and therefore almost alive...a moment of pure pleasure!
You will finish your Chocolate and Pastry Discovery Tour in one of the oldest and probably the most renowned pastry shop worldwide: Ladurée, where you will give your palate a treat; tasting the best macaroons in the world.
