Welcome to one of the greatest historical provinces of France, "The Queen of Bubbles". Only a hundred miles from Paris, Champagne's vineyards will reveal themselves as we travel along country roads, lying on the chalky hills to the south west of Reims and Epernay. Your "in-house" Driver-Guide will escort you to the ancient city of Reims, which is dominated by its 13th century cathedral (severely damaged during the 1st World War but restored to its former glory), a magnificent gothic monument with superb stained glass windows, elaborated by Marc Chagall and Brigitte Simone! Reims is France’s principal coronation city of, with 29 kings being crowned between 1027 and 1825 (not forgetting Joan of Arc's remarkable presence in 1429), but not only this; it is also home to some of our most major Champagne producers such as Tattinger, where tours of their cellars are available.
In order that your passion for Champagne is fully satisfied, your "in-house" Driver-Guide will take you to Epernay, a smaller town with some of the popular cellar visits and Champagne tasting, home of the world famous Champagne houses such as Moët & Chandon or Perrier-Jouët! Travel underground with us and learn how Champagne, this precious product, is matured. Your "in-house" Driver-Guide will then show you around Epernay itself before heading off to Hautvillers, a world famous village on the outskirts of Epernay's, and notably home of Dom Perignon. "Come quickly brother! I'm tasting stars!" these are the words Dom Perignon cried when he first sipped the effervescent elixir we now know as Champagne...what will be your reaction?
As it is a full-day tour, ask your guide where you would like to have lunch, depending on your tastes and budget, he will find a place which will suit you perfectly.
Once you’ve finished toasting one of France’s cultural symbols, your "in-house" Driver-Guide will drive you back safely to your hotel, or apartment.
